Bramley Basingstoke and Deane Independent candidate - Tony Durrant
The third candidate in the Bramley ward, Tony Durrant, will be standing for the Basingstoke and Deane Independent (BDI) group.
Despite requests, the Newbury Weekly News hasn’t been able to reach Mr Durrant for comment.
Mr Durrant is currently the Bramley Parish Council chairman and will be hoping to swell the ranks of the BDI on the council, which currently has four councillors after Ian Tilbury resigned in March.
If he is elected, he will be the second BDI councillor representing the Bramley ward, joining Chris Tomblin.
Mr Durrant previously stood as an independent candidate for the North East Hampshire constituency in the 2019 General Election, finishing fifth with 1.4 per cent of the vote.
He attended Westminster City School, and worked at manufacturing company 3M for 26 years, before retiring five years ago.
BDI was found in December 2019 by 11 councillors who felt disillusioned by party politics, and was made up of two existing independent councillors and nine former Labour councillors.
