A34 shut after accident involving vehicle crossing central reservation
Update: This event has now cleared.
Traffic has been stopped after a serious collision on the A34 northbound between the junction with the M4 and A4185.
The collision involved two cars, one of which has crossed onto the opposite carriageway.
The emergency services including Thames Valley Police and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance are in attendance.
National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene providing assistance with traffic management.
The accident is expected to clear between 5pm and 5.15pm today (August 1).

The AA shows congestion building from East Ilsley to Snelsmore Common.
Normal traffic conditions are expected between 3.45pm and 4pm this afternoon.
There are currently delays of up to 30 minutes against expected traffic.
Hampshire Roads Policing Team are at the scene.
One lane is closed on the A34 southbound between the junctions with the A4185 and the M4.
Normal traffic conditions are expected between 4pm and 4.15pm today.
There are currently delays of 50 minutes against expected traffic.
There is also congestion on the A34 northbound entry slip from the M4.
