Traffic news: A34 southbound reopen between the B4640 (Newbury) and the A303 (Bullington) after an overturned HGV left the carriageway

The A34 southbound between Newbury and Bullington has reopened after an overturned HGV vehicle collided with a tree and caused both lanes to be closed.

Recovery work took place to remove the lorry from the dual carriageway and all southbound lanes were forced to close.

Just before 6am this morning, Hampshire Roads Policing Unit posted on Twitter: "South at Tufton towards Bullington Cross, Lane one blocked, lorry has rolled over and large tree knocked down. Thankfully walking wounded but delays expected to recover."

It resulted in long delays, but Highways England reported this afternoon that the road is now fully open.
