4 people taken to hospital after A34 multi-vehicle pile-up near East Ilsley
2 adults and 2 children injured in 5 vehicle collision
FOUR people have been taken to hospital following a collision involving five cars on the A34 at East Ilsley this morning (Friday).
Thames Valley Police were called to the scene of a collision involving five cars at 11.28am.
South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) sent ambulances and paramedics to the incident in the northbound carriageway at East Ilsley, just after the Fiddler's Lane exit.
The multi-vehicle collision caused long tailbacks on the A34 stretching as far as the M4 junction at Chieveley, causing delays of up to 50 minutes in the area.
According to Highways England the accident was cleared at around 2.30pm with normal traffic conditions resuming around 3.30pm.
