And so every Sunday we will continue to shine a spotlight on one of them to try to help spread the word.

Nationwide, the charity currently has 802 dogs that are looking for a family to join.

You can find out more about adopting a dog by visiting the charity’s website.

Meet Winston.

Could you give this cheeky chap his forever home?
Could you give this cheeky chap his forever home?

He’s a loveable, goofy three-year-old bulldog.

This cheeky chap certainly has a personality that will forever keep you entertained.

Once he has got to know you, he absolutely adores a cuddle and often enjoys zoomying around in the Trust’s compounds.

Like a certain Peppa Pig, he’s also partial to a muddy puddle.

He can, however, become a little overwhelmed at times so will require some management in the home and so is searching for a quieter, adult only home where he can be the centre of attention!

Staff at the centre said: “Winston loves his toys but he can get a little overexcited, so he would appreciate a bit of space when he has them.

“He is able to have some dog friends out and about but would rather stick to human companionship.

“He loves his training sessions with his handlers (and the treats too) and is looking for owners that would be happy to carry on his work in the home.

“Although this loveable boy is bouncy and playful when he knows you, he does have a nervous side and would appreciate having his own safe space within the home if he is feeling overwhelmed.

“He loves his crate and is often seen snoozing away in it after his play time.”

They added that Winston would really enjoy having his own secure garden and new owners that he can smoother with all the love he has to give.
