Photography club member’s image in prestigious London Black and White Photographer of the Year show

A PHOTOGRAPH by Gina Robinson, a member of Newbury Photography Club, was chosen to be exhibited in the Black and White Photographer of the Year exhibition at London’s Congingsby Gallery, a prestigious venue that showcases the work of exceptional artists.

This is quite an achievement, given that only 40 images were shortlisted from more than 40,000 entries worldwide, which underscores the exceptional quality of Gina’s work.

The photograph, Gazing into the Face of Extinction, is of the endangered African white backed vulture.

Gina said: “I hope through my photography, I can bring the attention to the plight of these magnificent birds, some of the most endangered in the world, with populations declining rapidly.

“As well as habitat loss, they are deliberately being poisoned by poachers as they give away the location of their illegal activities.”
