New novel by Newbury author

Newbury author Derek Ansell's latest novel The Titian Portrait has just been published by Next Chapter Publishing. It covers the reign of Mary Ist, England's first Queen Regnant - 1554-1558. The narrative covers her marriage to Philip II of Spain and her attempts to return England to the Catholic faith. She is well served by her councillor, advisor and close friend Sir Francis Englefield MP for Berkshire who is shocked by the many executions he is forced to attend. The novel covers three rebellions, two phantom pregnancies and an ill advised war with France during Mary's troubled reign.
