Breaking: James Bay announced as the final headliner of Newbury Racecourse Party in the Paddock series
Newbury Racecourse has announced singer-songwriter and guitarist James Bay as the final headliner of its Party in the Paddock series for 2025.
He is probably best known for his 2014 single Hold Back the River, which was certified platinum
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of his multi-million selling debut album Chaos and The Calm, Bay will headline live after racing at Dubai Duty Free International Weekend on Saturday, September 20.
He is a BRIT award-winning and three-time GRAMMY award-nominated multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and guitarist.
Currently on a huge UK tour – which culminates at London’s OVO Wembley Arena this week – James is one of the UK’s biggest success stories of recent years.
His definitive breakthrough smash Let It Go first landed a decade ago, reaching top 10 in the UK charts and has tallied more than three billion streams and achieved six time-platinum status.
Moreover, his total career streams are just shy of nine billion with tracks including Hold Back The River, Us, and Peer Pressure with Julia Michaels.
Recent album Changes All The Time came out in October last year and became his fourth consecutive top five charting record and features collaborations with Noah Kahan and The Lumineers, plus writing credits with The Killers’ Brandon Flowers and Holly Humberstone.
James Bay joins the Party in the Paddock line-up for the Racecourse’s biggest ever summer of music racedays, with three other huge shows – Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Ella Henderson (Saturday, July 19), Björn Again (Friday, August 15) and Clean Bandit (Saturday, August 16) – already announced.
James Bay said: “I’m currently having the best time ever on my UK tour and am thrilled to have Newbury to look forward to in September.
“It’ll be my first time playing at the racecourse and can’t wait to see you all there.”
Newbury Racecourse marketing director Harry Walklin said: “We’re excited to confirm our biggest ever summer of music with the announcement of James Bay as 2025’s final headliner.
“With four bumper shows to look forward to from July to September we’re confident there’s going to be something for every racing and music fan to enjoy at Newbury this summer.
