Pony discovered dead in Woolton Hill




Firefighters called in rescue attempt

Firefighters called to a Woolton Hill pony rescue yesterday (Tues) evening, discovered the animal dead on arrival.

One pump from Newbury, another from Basingstoke and the animal rescue unit from Overton, were called over the Berkshire/Hampshire border at 7.30pm, to Church Road.

On arrival firefighters discovered the one-year-old pony had died, after falling down an embankment into a stream.

Firefighters left the scene after about an hour.
