Newbury and Hungerford firefighters extinguish M4 lorry blaze

Artic lorry fire near Swindon

Firefighters from Newbury and Hungerford were called to an artic lorry fire on the M4 near Swindon this morning (Mon).

Two pumps from Newbury and a third from Hungerford were called at 7.30am to the M4 westbound at junction 15.

The blaze was extinguished by four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using two hosereels.

Ambulance services were also at the scene.

The Highways Agency was arranging recovery of the lorry.

Firefighters left the scene at 8.55am.
